Speech Therapy covered by WSIB.

Injured workers in Ontario deserve access to culturally responsive speech-language therapy. The Onyx Clinic provides WSIB-approved speech therapy services for workers recovering from workplace injuries affecting communication, cognition, and swallowing.

What is WSIB?

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) provides benefits and support to workers who experience workplace injuries or illnesses in Ontario. This includes access to healthcare services such as speech-language pathology when a workplace incident affects your ability to communicate, swallow, or function cognitively.

If you've been injured at work and your injury affects your speech, language, cognition, voice, or swallowing, you may be eligible for WSIB-covered speech therapy services. Our team works directly with WSIB case managers to ensure you receive the care you need.

Conditions we treat under WSIB

Traumatic Brain Injury

Motor vehicle accidents, falls, and workplace incidents can cause brain injuries affecting speech, language, cognition, and swallowing. Our team provides comprehensive rehabilitation to support recovery and return to work.

Stroke Recovery

Workplace strokes or cardiovascular events affecting communication and swallowing are covered under WSIB. We provide aphasia therapy, dysarthria treatment, and cognitive-communication support.

Voice Disorders

Teachers, call center workers, musicians, and other professionals who rely on their voice may experience occupational voice disorders. We provide assessment and treatment to help you return to work.

Cognitive-Communication

Concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries can affect memory, attention, and communication skills needed for work. We help injured workers rebuild the cognitive skills for successful return to employment.

Swallowing Difficulties

Dysphagia (swallowing disorders) resulting from workplace injuries or medical conditions can be treated under WSIB coverage. Safe swallowing is essential for health and productivity.

Progressive Conditions

Workers diagnosed with conditions affecting speech, language, or swallowing while employed may be eligible for WSIB-covered ongoing therapy and support.
