Getting Started
How do I book a consultation?
Click the 'Book my free consultation' button on the home page.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. You do not need a referral to access our services. You can contact us directly to schedule an consultation for an assessment.
What happens during the first appointment?
Your first appointment is a comprehensive assessment where we learn about your (or your child's) communication goals, history, and concerns. We'll discuss our findings and recommend next steps.
Services & Therapy
Do you offer virtual speech therapy?
Yes. Virtual speech therapy is available for clients across Ontario. We use secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms for teletherapy sessions.
What age groups do you serve?
We serve children (birth to 18) and adults. In-person pediatric services are available in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and Oakville. Adult in-person services extend to York Region and Simcoe County as well.
Do you provide in-school speech therapy?
Yes. We offer in-school speech and language services for partnering private schools across the GTA with no waitlists. If you are interested in in-school services, please have the Head of School or school administrator contact us directly to discuss partnership opportunities.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of speech and language needs including: language delay, articulation, stuttering/fluency, literacy challenges, autism spectrum support, stroke/brain injury recovery, voice disorders, dysphagia, and neurodegenerative conditions.
Insurance & Funding
Are you an OAP approved provider?
Yes. The Onyx Clinic is an Ontario Autism Program (OAP) approved therapy provider. Contact us to learn how OAP funding can be applied to our services.
Do you accept private insurance?
Yes. We accept insurance and offer direct billing for eligible plans. We can also provide receipts (invoices) if your insurer requires you to submit for reimbursement.

Please contact us if you are looking for virtual or in-person support outside our typical service areas. We are actively developing partnerships with speech-language pathologists across Canada and would be happy to discuss what options may be available for your needs.

Are your clinicians registered?
Yes. All our speech-language pathologists are registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
